Day Off

My mother's been suggesting that K and I go on a date; to refresh and to temporarily get away from all things baby. So as soon as I had enough milk in the freezer I put on an outfit, made myself up, and we took off for lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Pasay City. K and I have always loved our quirky adventures. We aren't rich enough to travel to far off lands so we love finding interesting places in or near the city that present a lot of photo ops. Sometimes, when the weather is pleasant and the traffic not so horrific we even love venturing into the urban sprawl that is Manila. Manila may not be the prettiest city, but you'll never be bored here.

Anyway, our lunch: eat all you can sushi!

Soup served in a teapot.

Chawan mushi!

Endless rows of sushi!

I did not have energy to take a photograph of dessert, which was a slice of home made vanilla ice cream.

The whole feast left us looking like this:

pre sushi.

post sushi.

After we waddled out of the restaurant K wanted to look around nearby Harrison Plaza, a shopping mall that dates back to the 1970s. The building hasn't had a renovation since the 1980s, so it was one of those "land that time forgot/cyberpunk" looking places that K loves.
